Company History — A brief funny story of how we met, and how the idea for our biting baby was born.
One spring night in New York’s West Village, at a little restaurant called Le Pescadou, there were two small late-night parties going on - one at the bar in the front and one in the restaurant in the back. Heather, at the bar, was with her crew. Jen, in the back, was being wined and dined by a UN official who shall remain nameless (unless large sums of money are in the picture). The night progressed, and soon these crews were the only ones left in Le Pescadou.
By about midnight, Jen and UN somehow made it up to the front, where they were welcomed with open arms and more open bottles by Heather's group. Heather and Jen quickly became locked in dialogue, sharing each of their stories and personal missions -gobsmacked with all the similarities they discovered. They exchanged numbers and later started making visits to each other’s home base (NY for Heather, and all over for Jen), planning and plotting ways to save the world.
Early in 2005, while consulting for green businesses on conscientious consumerism, they IM’ed all day until the idea came to light: They’d write, create, inspire, and make a difference while doing something they loved.
