Coconut Oil: One Product Nirvana

I cook with coconut oil all the time. Fry eggs in it for real "no stick" and good for you, too. I use it any place I would use oil or butter. Spread a thin bit on toast. The brand I use is Emerald Labs and I get it at GNC.
Awesome! I've heard that Olive Oil is great for using as a deep conditioner, but I doubt that it would be that easy to use as a daily facial moistruizer. I'll make sure to get some coconut oil soon & give it a try on my hair; it needs everything it can get!
You know, I remember vaguely in my youth when we spent a summer in India that every day when I would get out of the shower, my aunt would massage coconut oil into my hair and then tell me to rub it on my skin as well. i had beautiful hear and skin as a child. Of course it was a practice I never continued once I came back to the U.S. and my skin feels like sandpaper and my hair feels like a friggin' mop.
I am a regular user of coconut oil. I can swear to its benefits. It's something I can't do without. Since the time I used it I never have had colds and one time, i had tonsilitis i was so afraid because of pus developing in my throat. I was already feverish at that time, and I was already planning to go to the doctor for antibiotics, but I knew then that coconut oil is also anti-viral and anti-bacterial too, so I decided to give it a try to gulp 2 more tablespoons without drinking anything before bed time. And you know what, after just 2 days of doing it, my throat was cleared of pus and it was amazing! I never had to go to the doctor..One thing more, I attribute to coconut oil the reason why i look 10 years younger.
One of my friends told me about coconut oil for herpes about two months ago. It WORKS fast on bad outbreaks and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than medication! She gets it from Mountain Rose Herbals online in bulk - organic coconut oil, $70 for a gallon. I drank spoonfuls of it the first two days after she gave me some, it was so good. The flavor is better than Spectrum Organics, and it absorbs better into my skin.
You can also add it to your pets food, to give them all the health benefits and a beautiful and shinny coat. 1 tsp for every 10 lbs or 1 tbs for every 30 lbs. Amount can be split for am and pm meals. BUT GO SLOW, taking a week or more to introduce the oil. Add small doses at a time working your way up to the full dose.
Add to above post. The Coconut oil I used for my dogs was from Tropical Traditions - Organic VIRGIN Coconut Oil. No need to refrigerate, if it turns to a solid just heat in a bowl over hot water. DO NOT MICROWAVE
Just a couple of quick questions for someone just starting to use coconut oil: How do you use it in your hair? Place on and then rinse out after a period of time or leave it on? Thank You.
Coconut oil is a *wonderful* personal lubricant. It's my favorite. We carry a selection at Love me Naturally - www.lovemenaturally.com if you want variations in scents but you can definitely use just plain stuff just the same. =) What a versatile oil!
if you are going to eat it then make sure its extra virgin, pressed from fresh not dried coconut. Make a huge difference to the nutritional qualities. If you are going to buy it, buy Fair trade. A compnay in Australia, Nui, supplies Pacific Islander communities with the machinery to make the best quality extra virgin cocnut oil and then buy it back for fair trade prices. Anyone know of an equivalent in the US?
