Coconut Oil: One Product Nirvana

Please check out the link here for all that are asking about the good and bad fats. Coconut oil is a superior nutritional food. It has been given a bad rap just as the avocados and also virgin palm oil. You can read about the palm oil on this site also.
Thanks for comments. My virgin coconut oil has been sitting in my cool basement, unused for a couple of years. Looks like I can use it. I am excited about giving it to my dogs for their coats (and maybe even joints!). To those first reading about this, remember it's VIRGIN coconut oil, unrefined. This is not the same as the cheap, regular coconut oil which is bad for you. Completely different properties!
This tip really helped me a lot. When my daughter had diahrreah for 4 days and doctor said it is some virus and all I can do is just wait, I tried giving her 1/4tsp mixed in her meal. It is instantaneous and everything disappeared. Thank you very much for sharing and such a wonderful site. I appreciate it HIGHLY.
Went to the link recommended above -TropicalTraditions-and found a facial cleanser made of saponified coconut oil. Is that good?? I'm looking for a face soap that has no parabens, laurel/laureths AND in all organic. Any help would be appreciated!
I have been really pleased with Tropical Traditions products. According to NewsTarget, this brand is really high in antioxidants. The oil is unrefined and yummy. I recently began using the Baby Silk lotion on my face and love it. I am also using their lavendar foam soap as a facial cleanser and find it works well. I believe the saponification process is safe. It is not an ingredient. Hope this is helpful.
Saponification if only the process that must happen for your soap to 'set'- nothing bad. Here's a true expert's comment on this product: I absolutely love your book! I read the outstanding book The Coconut Diet: The Secret Ingredient that Helps You Lose Weight While You Eat Your Favorite Foods by Cherie Calbom. I since have used Nutiva Extra Virgin Organic Coconunt Oil and have had great results. It's rich in healthy fats and keeps hunger at bay. The book also includes helpful recipes.
I read that really good quality cocount oil has a nice coconut flavor and scent. I tried Tropical Traditions and thought it was pretty good. Wonderful taste for popping corn kernels, didn't even need salt. Great on skin, and not bad eating raw, but I found that when I cooked with it it gave off a funny smell. Coconut Connection sounds great but does not ship outside of Europe. Anyone know of a better brand.
i heard coconut oil is also a natural anti bacterial, and is good as a lubricant during sex if you're not using a condom (its an oil after all)... is this true?
