Ideal Bite

Just a heads up to check out Michael Pollan's article in New York Times Magazine, "Out of the Kitchen, Onto the Couch" - it's not a quick read, but if you need a little motivation to get to the farmers market this weekend and crack open that monolithic 1,000 Years of French Cooking or whatever you've got, this should do the trick.

Another interesting find during my weekend reading was an article with detailed, fold-out illustration of the perfect futuristic city block, as envisioned by a set of clever architects – highlights: wind-power, lots of trees, and rooftop playgrounds. Unfortunately, you have to subscribe to Monocle magazine to see it, and it's pricey, but even if you can only sneak a peek on the newsstand, I recommend checking it out.
