Ideal Bite

Although I technically own a tv I only use it to watch the occasional DVD or VHS tape (so old school). I used to frustrate my friends and co-workers when they talked TV, now they just accept that I'm not into it. My nineteen year old son actually admitted the other day that he doesn't like it much anymore either. He said he gets more stuff done at home than at his friends homes who have TV. I do notice though that if I go anywhere there is a TV I get captivated no matter what is on. Arghh

If you live in a state which has a CRT recycling program, you might have to pay a fee if you take an older television or monitor to the recyclers. On newer models, this fee is often charged when you purchase the device. At least this is how it works in California. Other places you can donate your old televisions and monitors to are local schools, libraries, homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters. Oh and of course Thrift Stores. All of which can net you a tax-deductible receipt. In fact, I think donation should have been included in the tip as well. In fact all electric appliances should be either reused or recycled.

Oops, as an avid freecycler, I didn't mean to imply only to offer working tv's on freecycle. There are takers for any/all kinds of stuff on there, like you said, just be upfront! I meant to say that repair shops are another option to consider for electronics. Thanks!
