The Great Dehydration Scare

Who knew that we were all at such risk of constant dehydration? I mean pick up a magazine or watch an ad on tv, and sooner or later, you'll be convinced that your body is in severe need of hydration, electrolytically imbalanced and lacking in peak performance.

Oh puhlease.  When I grew up, kids playing sports drank... well, water.  And that water?  It came from a tap, not a plastic bottle with a label.

But if I were buying the need for electrolytic sports drinks (and trust me - as a girl who occasionally imbibes too much of a different kind of liquid, there is something miraculous about potassium-laden sports drinks for a hangover cure), you can rest assured that I would be reaching for the ONE Natural Coconut water.  As with many things, I was a complete skeptic until I tried it.

I promise - that stuff is GOOD.

-Heather... off to remember a world where a bench of kids playing basketball all drank out of the same refillable water bottles...

Hi John, You must work for this Thai company... because Brian & Amy is just nasty!! Please VENDORS do not post comments!!!
Carol... Yes you are correct...but as a daily drinker of Coconut Water I wanted to let people know of an alternative brand...a brand that is better tasting than zico, vitacoco and ONE! Don't hate me for being passinonate about a great tasting product! amyandbriannaturals.com
Amy and Brian's the only coconut water that is totally pasteurized, or "fried" (they boil the entire cans with coconut water inside). The only packaged coconut water that does not compromise entirely the benefits of the pure coconut water are tetra paked coconut water. Notice how industrialized Goya and other Thai brands use the same exact can as "Amy and Brians "natural coconut water".. Ironic?..
Tabitha...all juices have to be pasteurized to be sold in retail whether in a can or in a big giant vat and then put into a tetra pack (which, btw, is extremely difficult to recycle. Conspiracies don't fly (or fry) with me!
FYI: Tetra Pak is environmentally smart from the start. It is one of the best examples of minimal packaging (less material from the start) available today. And it uses far less energy to manufacture, fill, ship, and store than virtually any other comparable package on the market. But move over source reduction and energy efficiency, because there's another environmental plus: The Tetra Pak is being recycled in millions of American homes, and the numbers are growing. In recognition of these qualities, in 1996, the aseptic package won the coveted Presidential Award for Sustainable Development, the only package ever to win this top environmental prize. http://aseptic.org/
No one is happier than me that people are recycling more and more of their waste! So people are recycling in the millions but the industry is producing in the billions? Who wins here! Maybe we should add a deposit to the tetra pak drink products like we do for other drink containers? What are the 3 layers in a tetrapak anyways...it's not just paper! Now let's get back to the topic of coconut juice and how awesome it is for you. www.amyandbriannaturals.com
John, Coconut Water is awesome indeed... however your canned coconut water is not!
Mariana, Nothing is better than the real thing! But lets get real here. It's either canned or tetra. One from Asia other for South America. Two totally different tastes.
Hi all, I would like to comment on the post by Brad on March 15, and by Hello on March 16. The link that knocks VitaCoco seemed very childish to me and not very credible as a serious critique. I wasn't sure if the author of the link was knocking the product or the smell of coconut water in general. He says his baby wouldn't touch the stuff but my babies love it and drink it through a straw. They can't get enough. Personally, I like the product and am extremely happy to see more products like this in the market place. Maybe the writer of the blog didn't like it because it wasn't sweetened to death with sugar? My only concern with my babies trying coconut water is only with possible allergic reactions. Has anyone heard of allergic reactions to coconut water?? Curious.
Hi Curious, I believe that Brad and Hello were just trying to warn the readers of this blog that even though coco water is great, not all coconut waters taste the same... some brands are definitely better than others! I personally do not like Vita Coconut Water as well... Tariq
