Have You Seen My ____?

I am a consummate professional at forgetting stuff. Not useless things, like Ted Williams's batting average in 1949 (.343) or the name of the guy who starred opposite Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies (Peter Scolari); those little nuggets I'll take to the grave. But things like cell phone chargers, or my wallet, or my relatives' names, or how old I am...those little details seem to slip through the cracks.

So it's nice to know that people tend to be far more kind than you'd ever give them credit for, and as long as you show them the slightest ounce of respect, they're likely to lend you a hand. If you forget stuff while traveling, don't stop at cell phone chargers: Go ahead and ask strangers (front desk, the people in the room next door) if you can borrow pens, radios, ties, hair gel, whatever. They'll probably give it to you, even if it's just to make you go away.

Our local Verizon store will charge any cell phone for free (nice bit of marketing), so if you forget the charger, it's worth asking the handy cell phone store if they'll do an emergency charge. Never hurts to ask and it could save your butt.
Why have all your recent newsletters and blogs felt like an advertisement for Fortune 500 companies. Between McDonald's a couple weeks ago, the airline industry (??????) last week, Facebook yesterday and Verizon today, it feels like I'm reading a cleverly placed advertisement. Expansion is great, but not at the price of your original message. More and more disappointed in your newsletter each week.
My boss and I both forgot to bring the same BlackBerry cable on a trip...we don't usually carry our chargers, because with this connector cable, we can recharge off our laptops. Anyway, I asked at the hotel desk and they brought out a HUGE box of cables that guests had left behind. The last one in the box was perfect, and they let us keep the cable! Since then I've upgraded to the iGo Juice, one cable that you can connect various tips to to charge up cell phones, BlackBerries, laptops ... the works ... and from outlet, car, or airplane. A lot less cord to haul around!
advertising and marketing.. very interesting... just like this one wireless unlimited calling plans
