I’d Offer You a Ride, but I’ve Already Voted

Here in SF, we have early voting. Meaning: As early as 29 days before the election, you can go to City Hall, walk downstairs, get your ballot, and voilà! Voting completed.

I originally thought that early voting was some great magic conjured up by ever-busy urbanites of SF, but then the boyfriend (who is working for one of the presidential candidates in Indiana at the moment) disabused me of that misconception by telling me that they do early voting in some of even the most rural counties in the country. I'm continually amazed by the radness of the United States.

There is one major drawback to early voting, though - no "I Voted" sticker. Ever since I got to vote in a local countywide election on my actual 18th birthday, and left school midday to cast my ballot simply so I could show off the sticker the rest of the day, my exhibitionist attitude toward voting sort of stuck. I want that bloody sticker, people...

-Heather...off to find a sticky label that I can use to make my own sticker for Tuesday...

Now for a (just slightly) less important vote: It's Halloween, and time for our second annual Ideal Bite Avatar Costume Contest. Let us know who's got the best costume in the comments (and let us know what you're planning on wearing while you're at it).

I vote for Heather, because you are my daughter. :)
Go Cricket... Love the home made get up!! Don't forget to recycle that bag tomorrow : ) lol. Well, I am not a fan of halloween but after two kids it seems a little more interesting. So let me tell you what they are wearing. My 4 1/2 yr old is going as Hannah Montana, which she has loved for so long. She has a fancy little dress with a crop jean jacket, some black boots and a mic. My little 1 1/2 yr old is going as a football player. She is wearing a 49er jersey her older sister handed down, some white leggings tucked around some knee pads and some black streaks on her cheaks. Can you see where that home made comment came from now? : ) Nope, not wasting much money on this crazy holiday but my little ones are still have tons of fun. Thanks for all the tasty bites guys... very helpful!
I'm holding off voting until Tuesday for the sole reason of getting that sticker! But I also work across the street from my polling station, so I can keep tabs on the line and run over when there is a break. Small towns are great! And, thanks, you just messed up my day's productivity, as I now need to go create a Halloween avitar... :)
YAY ELISA!
Elisa, definitely my pick
You really didn't get a sticker? I did when I voted last week. I am not gonna wear it until Tuesday, so I can get a free scoop at Ben & Jerry's! Cricket! Is there any better costume for a princess than the Masked Corgi?
I vote for Cricket, I love the homemade ones!! Where in Indiana is the boyfriend & for whom if I may ask?? I live in NW Indiana. I am thrilled that my state is making a difference this time, I love the political process!!
instead of driving to the voting site, how about walking to it if possible??? My voting site is within walking distance so I'm walking to it Tuesday. I know people who live closer to it and they will probably drive to it. zig

I vote for Cricket!! I live in Indiana as well and I voted early. I always look forward to getting the sticker. Thankfully they had a pile of them there! Too bad that you didn't get a sticker : ( I hope you find one!
