If you build it...

To me, lingerie is something reserved for relationships...a little treat to spice up an evening with someone who has seen you after you've been crying or working out or screaming your head off unnecessarily about nothing in particular simply because your computer crashed three times that day.

In short, lingerie has never struck me as something to wear while wandering around the house on your own (itchy lace and creeping thongs), and why bother donning any during already-hot-enough new flings, or wearing any out in the hopes of a random hot evening? (I'm lucky if my legs are shaved, let alone if my underwear matches.)

Since I am perpetually single, then, this tip - at first glance - seems not to apply to me.

But lately, I am subscribing to the "If you build it, they will come" theory of life, and thus, have decided to put on some Mon Cherie hemp knickers.

This was definitely a needed article. I love it - Thanks for making the world a greener and sexier place!
If your tip you say: "Toss aside those worn-out granny panties." I don't think you should be encouraging people to toss things aside. If something can still be used, people could be congratulated for using it. That's what caring about our world and becoming sustainable is all about. Simply throwing things away because we want something new is never a good idea. It's always a better thing to keep wearing the clothes you have rather than buying new ones, even if you the new ones are made with hemp or organic cotton or whatever. So, as a responsible site, you should be praising people for not buying things. And your tips should be geared toward people who are about to buy something anyway and would like to make the most enviro-friendly choice. Also, I happen to like granny panties. Not on me, but on women. So anyone who wants to do the right thing and keep wearing them, please drop me a line.
here's a fun way to recycle/reuse! make your own very eco-panties! http://www.supernaturale.com/articles.html?id=70
How about ideas for the guys? We like to look good for our partners too...
Now how about finding some for plus-sized ladies-Thanks John for caring about us ladies that have more to love. Also, I happen to like granny panties. Not on me, but on women- And Josh thanks to you too for caring about the environment & not just about tossing wearable clothing for the next so called "green" item of the day. Also for liking women who wear more than a postage stamp for undies.
danielle, that's a great tip! as for heather... wearing nice undies makes other things more probable. though, come to think of it, i wasn't wearing undies at the time i met my man....
Speaking of tossing things...The add google placed at the top of this tip on my gmail account was for: "www.onederwear.com - 100% Cotton Disposable Underwear Only $5.99 (5 pairs)." Kind of ironic. I guess google still needs to work out some kinks in its add placement system. I like the other biters' point about not being wasteful in the name of going green.
Victoria Secret? Green? C'mon, listen to Reverand Billy: http://www.revbilly.com check out his VS intervention.
I don't get it: What's the point of all this organically/sustainably grown underwear if much of it is made overseas and shipped all the way across the Atlantic or the Pacific on a diesel boat? We're avoiding the petrochemicals in one step and replacing them in another, canceling out the eco-benefit. We environmentalists need to see and question the big picture, not just one aspect of it.
I agree with Terry (above). I'd like to thank Danielle for her tip about making your own, that's always the best way to go since these T-shirts always end up in abundance at thift stores.
