ISO a Bloodsucker

It just started last weekend. I woke up Sunday morning with a bunch of mosquito bites. Monday I had a few fresh ones, so I ruled out the possibility that this was a one-time deal, the result of spending too much time in my friend's backyard hammock, sans bug spray, on Saturday.

Monday night I spied one. There's at least one mosquito living in my bedroom. I spent about half an hour in hot pursuit, gave up, and watched Lost on DVD. This morning, yet again, my epidermis was reeling and red from last night's assault.

Thankfully, I came into the office this morning, and it was my lucky day - there's a sample of Burt's Bees repellent in our editorial library. Cross your fingers that I'll wake up tomorrow with no new bites...

I've heard that taking garlic pills is a good way to not get bit. I'll let you know...
i love the suggestions on avoiding getting bit, (I use the Don't Bug Me spray to keep 1000 leggers out of our home) I still get multiple bites that swell & itch for DAYS. I even scratch in my sleep!!!! Some one suggested toothpaste or preparation H. baking soda, witch hazel, alcohol(not the drinking kind),over the counter products, nothing seems to work. Any suggestions on how to get rid of that buggy itch.
one other thing..... i get bit also while watering my Basil, Lavender & catnip plants. Thanks Wayne!!! :) I eat tons of garlic (my husband is Italian) I think we must have Italian catnip lavender loving skeeters........... Please help I'm starting to rip off my skin, I have scars to prove it.

Burt's Bees herbal insect repellant smells fantastic, but it doesn't work.
I use the Don't Bug Me Patch- all natural - keeps the bugs away 36 hours at a time - no spray, no oils, no grease, it is simple and it works
Take it from one who has always lived in the DEEP South, where mosquitoes are as big as birds...the best and fastest way to get rid of the sting and the whelp that will occur is to grab your toothpaste and rub some on the place where you've been bitten. You may have to do this several times if you are stingy with the toothpaste. But, within an hour, you will have NO itching and will not be able to see where you have been bitten.
Hi Elizebeth & all, Yes, you are right... toothepaste would work. The reason it works (even works for zits) is because of the peppermint oil. Peppermint oil works for bites and pimples for example because it slightly constricts the capillaries that are bringing blood to the sting. That means less blood, less throbbing, less pain, not red. Our botanical bug uses the same principles (among others) and is a deliscious blend of Lavender, Lemon Myrtle, Rosemary, Patchouli, and Peppermint essential oils specifically chosen for their insect repelling properties. I highly, highly reccomend it. Heres the link http://sensatia.com/body/essentials/botanical_bug-off.en.php Oh ya, and for the pimples we have something too, this facial hydrate uses oils of lemon, tea tree & peppermint to fight acne http://sensatia.com/face/facial_hydrates/oily_to_acne-prone.en.php AND my offer still hold for Idea Bite customers - Get 15% off your order when you check out by using voucher code: GIFT15 Feel free to contact me anytime with any questions or comments, good luck, sincerely, michael - sensatia.com
