Meet Your Makeover

What's a Biter to do to combat, as one marketing letter put it, "these gray and miserable times"? For starters, you can lay your eyes on the fresh-faced Bite(s) in your inbox today. Hopefully when you saw yours, you exclaimed something like, "I want to marry it!" (hey, the girls in the illos are hot).

While you save up for that recycled-gold engagement ring, here are a few new goodies that'll get you biting like nobody's business:
1. Discounts. Be sure to scroll down and look for the scissors icon. Whenever we can, we'll score a deal for you on whatever we're tipping - this coupon-esque area is where to find it.
2. Your comments. If you want to comment directly on a tip, no need to head to the blog - just click "Comment on This Tip" in the bar that runs just under the Cocktail Fact, and away you go. Meanwhile, we'll be mixing it up here in the blog, with all kinds of content and commentary (the address of a last-minute eco sample sale in NY, a link to a documentary vid on GMOs, a breakdown of Mike's testing on a new solar backpack...) – comment as you please right here, same as usual.
3. Other stuff. Across the very bottom of your tips, there are some boxes where we'll let you know about all-new Biter goings-on - contests and giveaways, how to connect with other Biters, and the low-down on great new content. Coming soon: guides, videos, even a Biter book club.

Enjoy--and let us know what you think!

I like the new look - it's more appealing, crisper and kept my attention better than the previous layout. Nice work!! Thanks for keeping me in the loop on how to decrease my negative footprint.
First Grist, now you. Well I like change and from what I have seen there is not much different, just a slightly different layout and you changed the headings to be more punctual. Not bad. There is one major and completely inexcusable problem however: "these gray and miserable texts" Tiny type in light gray on white is a nightmare for the eyes. I could not read the Cocktail Fact at all. Please don't sacrifice function for form. My MacBook may have a small (13") screen but that should not exclude me from enjoying your tips. The text is too small and way too light to read.
Awesome, awesome, awesome. I love the new layout ans am really looking forward to all the goodness that is to come!
I also have an issue with the text in the Cocktail Fact and Bang for the Bite. That tiny light-gray text just doesn't work. (I do like the rest of the revamp, though!)
Ehh. It's OK. Overall, it's not much different. I liked the old look, so I don't think a change was necessary. If you plan on making changes in the future, you should inform your readers beforehand, and maybe even ask for ideas. I was confused and a little ticked off when the "My Bites" section disappeared and stopped working with no warning about two months ago. I had to email you guys to ask what was going on. I got a partial, generic response that was pretty vague. I know you value your readers, so make sure to show it by keeping us fully informed.
