Now We're Cooking...Seriously
I never used to cook all that often. Yes, I'm lazy, but I also live in a city full of awesome food choices from Burmese to Ethiopian (mmm…injera) - it's just stupid to waste my time eating my not-bad-but-not-great chili (though Top Chef challengers beware: my risotto is getting better every time).
But reading Michael Pollan's In Defense of Food for the Biter Book Club is making me start to get back on the cooking wagon. (What, did you think I'd miss a chance for some shameless promotion?) The value of knowing exactly what I'm eating is kinda nice…I'm not the baking-with-applesauce type, but I also don't wanna die before it's absolutely necessary. And I've really enjoyed the process of throwing on some cooking music and chatting with roomies and friends while chopping and sautéing.
What about you? Share your thoughts on eating with us. You don't even have to have read the book - if you eat, you're qualified. Just visit the club and chime in…
-Senior Editor Mike...off to read up on risotto…
