I would be interested in finding out if anyone is refilling ink cartridges (formally regular ink) with soy ink or other alternative inks. That would be great to add to today's tip about recycling print ink cartridges.

I tried the new Walgreen's refill cartridge now my printer won't print. I have had my son look at them he is computer literate so today I am returning .

I haven't researched it, but it seems that with all of the places refilling ink cartridges, it's more "green" to refill your existing cartridge (recycled or not) than to recycle your cartridge and buy a recycled cartridge. Walgreens & Costco both come to mind, but I'm sure there are other places, too.

PetSmart has prepaid mailing envelopes for used inkjet cartridges (no Epson) and also old cell phones. 100% of monies goes to PetSmart charities.

I just got a new printer in my office that uses SOLID INK. A new technology that will eliminate the need for cartridges all together. Not a cheap printer though and commercial model, but who uses more than a business. Hoping it works well. Xerox 8650 model Color Laser

Has anyone had success refilling their cartridges at Walgreens or elsewhere? I'd like to do it, but am kind of skeptical.

One more thing about recycling cartridges-you can take them to Officemax(or a place like that) & they will give you $3.00/per cartridge up to 5 per day. I did that when I needed a new Norton Antivirus & it saved me $15.00 off of the price(on sale too!!) They were from my old printer& are a different size cartridge than the ones that my printer now takes. They also can refill our cartridges there too. I will probably use Walgreens refills because they are cheaper. The lady did say that they can be refilled 4-5 times. And no I do not work for Officemax. Eric-how do you bypass cartridges??

Emily I could not use the Walgreens refills in my printer at all. When I returned them the lady told me that she had her same problem but her daughter over road what the printer was saying.

well, first , with those ink cartridges at walmart they may not be good, because those are refilled cartridges and you do have to make sure you have the right cartridge be cause if you dont they will damage your printer, try this and if it does work, ill tell you what else you can do, be cause it also myight be the memory needs to be cleared on your printer ok,that stops it from working to because it keeps a log on everything you do ok.
