Same Speedo, Different Day

I was on the swim team in high school. It was the first - and only - time I ever shaved my legs (which I did to shave precious milliseconds off my 100-meter backstroke - not as a fashion statement) and the last time I ever wore a Speedo. It recently occurred to me that back in the day, I spent more time in a Speedo than any other article of clothing except, maybe, my favorite black Converse high-tops.

Unfortunately (some might say fortunately), we haven’t come across any eco-Speedos. There’s a huge untapped market of environment-conscious Speedo-wearers out there, people, so get to it!

Believe it or not, it helps. Swimsuits require energy and transport to produce, while birthday suits require none. But if swimming in the buff just isn't your style, try on some eco-swimwear for size...

I bought a bunch of Nau stuff. It's metrosexual hiking at its best! Great for hiking a few NYC blocks...but I wouldn't trust it anywhere within 100 miles of the High Peaks, even in the middle of summer. I returned it, and they were great.

When people see the price tags on sustainable and organic clothing, they usually feel overwhelmed. I know I was put off by the price the first time I went into an organic clothes store. I got to thinking, though. The cheaper, mass-produced clothes often shipped from workhouses overseas don't have the expensive organic label. They've been quickly made in factories where quantity, not quality are the bottom line. Workers are not paid decent living wages and the people at the top are in it for the profit. I'd rather purchase clothes that were made thoughtfully, are good for the environment, and that will last longer than the cheaper brands. That said, it's taking me awhile to put my beliefs into practice because it was bred into me that I shouldn't spend much on clothes. So for now, I shop at Goodwill and Salvation Army. Low prices for (usually) quality pre-worn clothes.

I get this necklace as second-hand item at a tiffany jewellery store near my district, half price of new, I am happy. The information you posted about louis vuitton is so useful, I am expecting for your next post.
