Something Green
This past weekend I was in NJ for my sis’s bridal shower. My aunt went all out – bird-themed with lots of lace and toile and Tiffany blue accents all over, plus nonstop games – very bridal shower-y. As I helped clean up the gift wrap, paper plates, plastic forks, etc., I couldn’t help but think about the many tips we’ve covered here. So today, I went digging in our archives for tips to help you throw a green bridal shower, if you’re planning one:
Invites: I’m a fan of e-invites but if you want something more formal, try recycled or plantable ones.
Gifts: Check out our Wedding Guide for registries that give back (and maybe ask guests to skip the gift wrap). Or give an experience gift.
Favors: Wedding favors here but they work great for showers too (organic bonbons, mmm).
Food: Go organic when you can, but also go for reusable or eco-disposable plates, cutlery, etc. (they preserve resources and keep landfills low).
Music: Our Biter Playlist (Coldplay, Radiohead, Feist…) will keep it festive.
