Fishing for Compliments

The Bite:
Angling for a fish dish? Flattery will get you everywhere (aw, really? Gee, thanks), including the details on our latest fish find: Naha. This Near North resto whips up Med-meets-Cali deliciousness that incorporates sustainably harvested fish, such as the Great Lake whitefish, thanks to a partnership with Shedd Aquarium. Hook yourself up with a reservation for next Monday's Right Bites prix-fixe feast, featuring mouthwatering picks like buttery, chive-alicious cannelloni with roasted Jerusalem artichokes and Dungeness crab, topped with Door County Golden Whitefish Caviar, plus wine pairings. (Naha mixes in local and organic ingreds too.) A Sheddie will chat about what's up in the fish world - while you slurp meringuelike Rhubarb Parfait with panna cotta for dessert. Take the bait.
Wanna Try:
Right Bites at Naha; Mon., Mar. 30, 6 pm; 500 N. Clark St. Map It (312-692-3123).  Right Bites prix fixe, $75.

Cocktail Fact

Orange roughy fish can live up to 150 years while the Pacific rockfish up to 205 - both are especially vulnerable to overfishing because they take longer to reach maturity.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Chicago Biters eat just one sustainable seafood dish instead of an unsustainable option, we'll save the weight of five and a half dolphins in fish from being caught in environmentally destructive ways.
