The Bite:
Wanna beat out your feather-haired nemesis for the style crown? No need to snag a date with the quarterback, just hit A Green Horizon, jam-packed with house things like buttery organic cotton sheets and Flor's recycled shag (happily not in the '70s way) carpet tiles. For those with makeovers on their hands: new in-store Gilasi recycled glass countertops - made in Chicago outta old oven door windows. For the broke: under-$20 stuff like Doodlespark's snazzy recycled stationery. And tiaras off to AGH for stocking tons of goods from companies that donate to green nonprofs.
Why Care?: 
Take glass, for example: Only about 12% of it is recycled every year in the United States (the rest takes more than a million years to decompose); buying recycled-glass countertops keeps landfills lighter.
AGH gave us a mossy green Gilasi counter estimate within a week, but since we're waiting for our savings account to revive itself, we picked up organic soap and soy candles instead.
