Breaker, breaker, need to get away. Coming in loud and clear: Milwaukee, WI. Drop your bags at the luxe green-certified Hotel Metro. Then, while you're waiting for your saltwater hot-tub soak at its rooftop spa (make a res), shop for organic clothes (to lounge in after) and home stuff at Future Green Boutique, or check out the flora and fauna exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum. For happy hour(s), grab a local draft o' rich, bitter-y Organic ESB ale at Lakefront Brewery, then chow local, seasonal eats at Roots (may we suggest: Warm Frisee Salad with curds from Castle Rock Organic Farms). Cap your trip with a cuppa organic joe from Alterra, before you head over and out.

I live in Milwaukee and if you come be sure to check out the Unban Ecology Center http://www.urbanecologycenter.org/ It is just up the River from Lakeside Brewery
