Public Display of Affection

The Bite:
Wanna express your passion for beer tomorrow night? Pucker up - in plain view - to the brews at O'Shaughnessy's Public House during its first St. Pat's Day celebration. Move aside Guinness - on tap are local drafts like Indiana's citrusy Alpha King Pale Ale and Half Acre's full-bodied lager, now brewed just a mile away. Pad your stomach with OPH's housemade spicy minestrone and other locally sourced staples like bread from Wheeling's Galway Bakers, sausage from Niles, and in-season veggies from the Green City Market. Oh, and show some love for the greasy-licious chips dipped in curry sauce (OPH turns its cooking oil into fuel, BTW, then gives it to local farmers).
Wanna Try:
O'Shaughnessy's Public House, 4557 N. Ravenswood Ave. Map It (773-944-9896). Half Acre draft, $5.

Cocktail Fact

The City of Dublin, OH, broke the Guinness World Record for largest Irish dance in 2007, when 10,036 participants jigged together at the Dublin Irish Festival.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Chicago Biters chug two pints of local beer tomorrow night instead of an import, we'll avert the CO2 caused by four round-trip flights from O'Hare to Dublin, Ireland.
