Bear Naked

The Bite:
imageEver seen polar bears au naturel (read: not in a zoo)? Nature photographer Steven Kazlowski has - forĀ 8 years, actually, in the Arctic - and he's got the pics to prove it. Check 'em out at tomorrow's free event, where he'll share stories and pictures from his book The Last Polar Bear. The book features more than 200 stunning photos of giant white furballs in their natural, icy habitat. The book also includes essays from scientists (don't worry, they're all in plain ol' English) and Alaskan writers that connect the dots between human behavior and global warming (and its effect on the bears' habitat). Buying signed copies optional, but pants required.

Cocktail Fact

Polar bears don't drink much - they get all the liquids they need from the seals and other critters they eat.

Small Changes Add Up

Viewing pics of polar bears won't save 'em, but it might spur you to take action against global warming.
