Bike While the Iron is Hot

The Bite:
imageNeed to ditch an old bike, like, now? Instead of tossing it, now's your chance to give it to Recycle Bicycles. RB will take your two-wheeler (it prefers in working condition, but if someone snagged your seat, it'll take it for parts), then get a hand from local bike clubs and shop techs to whip them into tip-top shape. Repairs range from replacing reflectors to overhauling brake systems. When they're ready to ride, RB hands 'em over to folks at local inner-city shelters, housing projects, and schools that can use them. Grab a receipt, and take action on getting a tax break.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Denver Biters donate a used bike for reuse instead of throwing it away, we'll keep the weight of 1,097 Lance Armstrongs in steel and rubber out of landfills.
