Do Wah Ditty Ditty...

The Bite:
imageDumb: Opting for the same old boring tables and chairs. Do: Check out Wadoo Furniture's funky-but-functional pieces for your pad. The spot recently expanded to about double the old size, and it's still jam-packed with an eclectic mix of colorful accents - tables to wall hangings. Our pick of the mix is local artist Jay Shambo's creations, including stools made of Douglas fir from a demolished barn and tables made from rosewood out of an old mine shaft. Other gems: Alane Ortega's mosaic sculptures, created with broken pottery and glass. Using reclaimed woods and other materials keep landfills small and trees standing tall. And the pieces? They look good.

Cocktail Fact

The song "Do Wah Ditty Ditty" was originally recorded by U.S. pop band The Exciters, but Manfred Mann's cover of it (released only months later) was ultimately more successful.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Denver Biters buy an end table made from reclaimed wood instead of virgin wood, we'll avert the CO2 created by 29 cars in a year.
