The Bite:

Looking for a tea that beats the classics? Try this composition: Bhakti Chai, a harmonious concentrate of organic, fair-trade black tea and spices. It's a little zingier than most chais, with ingredients like black pepper, fresh pressed ginger, cardamom, fennel, and clove. You'll still get some caffeine, and the ginger'll help with the nausea and body aches you're sure to have tomorrow. BC recommends mixing it with milk; we tried it that way, in hot chocolate, and in eggnog (thumbs-up all around). Plus it's microbrewed locally, loaded with age-defying antioxidants, and comes in a reusable glass bottle (sun tea, anyone?) - well orchestrated.

Wanna Try:

Bhakti Chai, available at Vitamin Cottage, 2033 S. Colorado Blvd. Map It (303-756-8400). $11/32 ounces.

Cocktail Fact

The British commonly drank ale for breakfast before they started importing tea in large quantities.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Denver Biters drink one cup of organic tea instead of conventional tea each day for a year, we'll keep the weight of 280 clay teapots in pesticides from pouring into the environment.
