Kiss and Makeup

The Bite:
imageConventional makeup got you majorly irritated? (Your face, that is.) Smooth things over by spraying on a little Denver-made, citrus-and-sagey Hydration Mist from Mineral Fusion, a moisturizing, antioxidant-rich toner that'll sweet-talk your dry winter skin sans greasiness. (We used ours to pep up before our third meeting of the day.) MF also rocks chem-free, mineral-derived cosmetics (tho' these aren't made here), including base, blush, eye shadow, and lip goops (more than 10 shades - we like canoodling with the subtle, moisturizing Lip Sheer). Everything's paraben-free, and contains no chemical-based dyes or cancer-linked talc. Plus, MF uses recycled-paper packaging and offsets its emissions through Carbonfund. Pucker up.
Wanna Try:
Mineral Fusion, available online and at Whole Foods, 444 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Map It (303-935-5000). Hydration Mist, $18.

Cocktail Fact

The average woman ends up consuming 4-9 pounds of lipstick during her lifetime.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Denver Biters buy synthetics-free toner instead of conventional ones for a year, we'll contribute about $180,000 to eco-conscious companies.
