Lucky CHaRMs

The Bite:
imageNeed a little leprechaun to take away your junk? How 'bout the next best thing: the Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (known to humans as CHaRM). It won't take pink hearts or purple horseshoes, but it works with tons of local orgs to recycle (or donate for reuse) your other old stuff - bike tires, used cooking oil, shoes, Styrofoam blocks, even your old toilet. And it won't cost you a pot o' gold: It'll take most stuff free of charge, except electronics and bathroom porcelain (and hey, we'd make you pay for that too). CHaRM also has info on where to drop things it can't take - like air conditioners and yoga mats. It's magically recycle-licious.
Wanna Try:
CHaRM, 5030 Pearl St., Boulder. Map It (303-444-6634). Most items, no charge; bike tires, $0.50; sinks/toilets, $4; computer tower, $8.

Cocktail Fact

The only original marshmallow shape that remains in today's Lucky CharmsĀ is the pink heart.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Denver Biters recycle their old computer towers instead of chucking them in the trash, we'll keep the weight of 200 horses in metal outta landfills.

Recycle is all good... but it's hard to pay $10 to recycle an old printer.. or monitor...
