Ideal Bite tips are selected by our editorial staff (with a lot of help from Biters like you) and are always things that we have done, have liked, and now want to share with you.

The criteria to be featured on Ideal Bite is as follows

• No history or future intent of "green washing."
• Corporate Responsibility efforts and performance have improved over the past year.
• Top-level buy-in of social and environmental responsibility beyond CR reports.
• Public disclosure and reporting of CR efforts to stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in interview; willingness to discuss strengths as well as weaknesses.
• Products are sustainable (organic, non-GMO, paraben-free, recycled packaging, cruelty-free, fair trade materials) wherever possible.

Advertisers are featured in standard placement on the site and newsletter so that we can keep our tips coming your way each day. However, no one can ever pay to be included in the Wanna Trys, since who wants to read one big ad each day? (Occasionally, companies featured in the Wanna Trys will pay Ideal Bite an affiliate commission if a reader visits their site and buys something from them. We really like this - after all, we gotta pay for Cricket's dog food - but we choose products to be tipped with no knowledge of which companies will do this).

A few times a month, companies can pay to be featured in our Green Chip Showcase (GCS), but no company can ever be featured in the GCS if they don't pass our sustainability criteria. (And yes, we have refused to take people's money because we didn't think they were green enough).

You're safe with us - we'll never sell our subscriber list to anyone. NEVER.
