nyc landing

Skip the Times Square madness and take our 3-day tour of Biter-approved 'hoods in bustling downtown, chill uptown, and hipster-haven Brooklyn. Pick one or all - in any order - grab a MetroCard, then chew on this...

You're Here, Now What?

Arriving from JFK:
Skip the car rental (do you really wanna compete with 13,000+ taxis?) and get to Manhattan in one of three eco-ways.

Green: OzoCar private car service, $70.
Greener: New York Airport Express Service Bus, $13-$15.
Greenest: AirTrain to Sutphin Blvd, transfer to the E, J, or Z into Manhattan, $5 AirTrain and $2.25 subway.

Getting Around the City:
New York City Subway. One-way, with free underground transfers (nixed if you leave the station), $2 - accepts bills, coins, and debit/credit cards. Get a Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard: You pick the amount up to $80 and get a free ride for every $10 you spend.

New York City Buses. One-way, with limited transfer routes, $2. Accepts subway MetroCard or exact change in nickels, dimes, and/or quarters - no pennies, bills, or pocket crumbs.

Purchase MetroCards down in the subway stations or at newsstands, bodegas, and grocery stores displaying the MetroCard sign in the window.
