Dog Day Care and Boarding

Dog Day (Care) Afternoon

06.03.2009

The Bite:
Feel like you can't go on vacay 'cuz your mutt is holding you hostage? No need to rob Fido of TLC - just take him to WagVille, a 14,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor holistic doggy dream with day care and overnight dog sitting. There's playtime and exercise, webcams, and for boarding, pooches sleep in the main play area, slumber-party-style, (with a chaperone, natch - personal snooze suites extra). You can also arrange for grooming with Spot Organics or healing massages, and pick up eco-accessories like Earthdog's hemp leash or nontoxic flea repellant. Bank on it.

Why Care?:
Taking your dog to a day care that grooms and cleans with eco-friendly products means not exposing them to toxic chems like ammonia and bleach that can cause problems from skin irritation to tissue damage.
We're not (that) ashamed to admit we spent a lotta time watching our pup run and play on the webcam.
Wanna Try:
WagVille, 2400 N. San Fernando Rd. (323-222-4442). Day care $6/hour and up; standard boarding, $50/night; private boarding, an additional $10/night; grooming, $35 and up.

Cocktail Fact

Pet Airways is a pet-only airline (seriously, no humans) where passengers fly comfortably in the main cabin - not in cargo.

Small Changes Add Up

Using nontoxic grooming products will keep cancer-linked chems off of our pooches and other toxic nasties outta production.
