Go with the Flow

The Bite:
imageAre you easygoing when it comes to the water you drink? If you're up for a little stir, check out tomorrow's LA premiere of Flow, an award-winning new documentary about the world's water supply that got rave reviews at Sundance. The film digs into why supplies are dwindling, including how clean water sources get contaminated by pollution and how bottled-water companies - which sell almost 90 billion liters of bottled water worldwide a year (most of it in nonreusable plastic containers) – are sapping water supplies from farmlands and wilderness areas. Worry it'll get you down? Naw, just take your new brainy self and do what Biters do: Hook yourself up with a home water filter and reusable bottle after the show. Smooth sailing.
Wanna Try:
Flow, opens Sep. 12 at Laemmle Sunset 5, 8000 Sunset Blvd. at Laurel Canyon Blvd., WeHo. General admission tickets, $10.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 LA Biters drink tap water instead of 1 liter of bottled water every day for a year, we’ll save enough money to provide over 9 million people with 2 liters of safe drinking water every day.
