Lifestyles of the Green and Not-Yet-Famous

The Bite:
Wanna drink champagne endlessly while watching films? We wish. OK, so it's not Cannes, but the Green Lifestyle Film Festival puts superimportant eco-issues on the big screen. Check out day-long screenings (Saturday and Sunday) of flicks like the can't-miss A Delicate Balance (inconvenient truths about animal products) and the Joaquin Phoenix-narrated film Earthlings. The Friday night kickoff includes live music; trailers, with filmmakers speaking after; and a keynote from Howard Lyman who'll discuss his film Mad Cowboy. Also: veg-friendly delicacies like the tasty Olive Pizettas and the vaunted Deviled Tomato from 118 Degrees - sorry, no caviar.

Cocktail Fact

An Inconvenient Truth is the fourth-highest-grossing documentary film to date in the United States after Fahrenheit 9/11, March of the Penguins, and Sicko.

Small Changes Add Up

If LA Biters watch environmental (and entertaining) films, that’s more minds aware of (and maybe more likely to take action on) important eco-issues.
