Monday Blues

The Bite:
imageAlready wishing you could TGIF? Beat the Monday (and budget) mopes with discounted eats and drinks at Luna Park’s Blue Mondays. Its Blue Plate entrée specials (Moroccan Spaghetti and Meatballs = swoon) and potent drinks (kumquat mojitos, red or white sangria) change weekly based on the availability of local and organic ingredients. Hanging out in Luna’s lively bar or cozy noshing area another night of the week won’t break the bank, either. We’re regulars thanks to the Goat Cheese Fondue, MYO S’mores, and vegan pizza (garlic spread, caramelized shiitake mushrooms, asparagus, tomatoes). Plus, all waste veggie oil gets recycled as bio-fuel. TGIM.
Wanna Try:
Luna Park Blue Mondays; 5:30-10:30 p.m. through fall; 672 S. La Brea Ave. at Wilshire Ave. (323-934-2110). Blue plates, $10-12; drink specials, $5.

Cocktail Fact

Fondue means “to melt” in French.

Small Changes Add Up

If half of the food 10,000 LA Biters eat is locally produced, in a year we'll avert the amount of CO2 produced by the cars of almost 1.5 million cars.
