Lofty Ambitions
The Bite
Dreaming of more living space? Set your sights on Cherokee Lofts, a former recording studio - where the likes of Sinatra, Elvis, and Bowie contributed to the making of 300 Gold and Platinum albums - that's on its way to housing 12
LEED Gold-certified loft spaces. Eco-real estate company Rethink plans to preserve a bit of the building's rich musical history by repurposing the original black forest walnut panels and including space for in-home recording in 2 of the 12 lofts (1,000-2,000 sq ft each). We don't have room to list all of the green perks (such as recycled glass tile,
FSC-certified lumber, and zero-
VOC paints), but they're slated for completion in early '09, and trust us, they'll elevate your ambitions to even greener heights.
