SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 LA Biters walk or bike 5 miles a week instead of driving, in a year we'll eliminate the CO2 created by 240 cars.

Spoke Out of Turn

The Bite

Like butting in about your bike knowledge (or lack thereof)? Try Bicycle Bitchen - a weekly ladies-only night at Bicycle Kitchen where you can not only talk bikes, but also use on-site tools and expertise to fix and maintain your own two-wheeler. (BK also offers other ongoing co-ed classes and workshops, including wheel building and wrenching.) Whether you join in on Bike to Work Day tomorrow, or use your bike for short trips to the store instead of driving, or to get a workout (instead of treadmilling-it), you'll save cash on gas, lower CO2 emissions (you'll still need to breathe, though), and keep those spokes turning.

Wanna Try

Bicycle Kitchen, 706 Heliotrope Dr. at Melrose Ave. (323-662-2776). Bicycle Bitchen, Mondays 6:30-9:30 p.m. Donation, $7/hour (no one is turned away for lack of funds).
