SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 LA meat-eating Biters eat a vegan meal just once a week, we'll avert the CO2 caused by lighting 42 houses that week.

COCKTAIL FACT

If you lay all of the bacon end-to-end that the Waffle House chain (no relation) serves in a year, it would stretch from Atlanta to Los Angeles seven times.

The Bite

Are sticky buns and potpie secretly good for you? Well, comfort food gets an upgrade at The Waffle, the new H'wood joint that sneaks the grease out of its greasy-spoon-inspired menu. Grab a booth at this breakfast-anytime, nouveau-retro diner that serves veggie takes on coffee shop staples. Try the Un-BLT or the Non-Dairy Shake, and yep, waffles - both sweet and healthy (gluten-free), made by Chef Scooter Kafer-Cartmill with organic and local ingredients. Bonus: It's open late, so head upstairs to its Regal Beagle-looking lounge for last call (we dig the Ginger Maple Martini made with organic syrup) or nosh on some chili fries post-bar - the waitress could slip you the vegan variety on the sly, and you wouldn't even know the difference.
