Open your eyes (and taste buds) to more flavor variety, and get growing with purple, orange, yellow, and even green zebra-striped heirloom tomatoes that haven't been genetically nip-tucked. To start, check out Tomatomania, a huge seedling sale happening this weekend. Look for Stupice and Aussie varieties, or Jaune Flamme, which yields small, sweet orange ones ideal for salads - among the best types to grow in SoCal.
