The Benefits:
- Spotting unidentified toxins. The EPA says that kids are more sensitive than adults to pesticides, which are linked to neurological and developmental disorders. Also apples are #2 on the top 10 list to buy organic.
- Keeping sugar out of the crop circle. Some fruit sauces contain added sweeteners. These are made with apples and ascorbic acid, a naturally occurring preservative - that's it.
- Hovering over better nutrition. Apple sauce is a good source of fiber, vitamin C, and cancer-fighting flavonoids (a type of antioxidant).

- Santa Cruz Organic Apple Sauce - certified organic, WRAP-award winning sauce made with sustainably harvested apples; a nice, clean, crisp taste ($4/23 ounces).
- Eden Organic Apple Sauce - contains only organic apples; the brightest taste of the ones we tried ($4/25 ounces).
- Mott's Organic Apple Sauce - this popular brand is available unsweetened and organic at many major stores ($4/23 ounces).
- 365 Organic Applesauce - Whole Foods' house brand tastes a little sweeter than the Santa Cruz; we liked the variety with cinnamon best; locate a store ($3/24 ounces).

In-house Biter taster Roxie (here on the run with flip flops...we don't know why either...) loves Eden Organic Apple Sauce, and often tries feeding it to Papa.
