The Dark Night

03.27.2009

The Bite:
Ready to Bale on global warming – swearing optional? Make like a bat this Saturday, and flip off the lights for an hour, starting at 8:30 pm. For 60 minutes, millions of peeps and places worldwide (including The Empire State Building, Time Warner Center, and the LEED-certified Hearst Tower) will go dark to shine a light on climate change – 15% of electricity use in the home is for lighting. Pledge here, then have a candlelit grubfest at Gusto Organics, mojito at Habana Outpost, or better, hide out in your cave with a couple soy candles and a play-in-the-dark pal.
Wanna Try:
Earth Hour; Mar. 28, 8:30 pm.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 NY Biters turn off 10 100-watt bulbs for Earth Hour, we'll save enough energy to power one home for a year.
