Dig Spender

The Bite:
imageLove shelling out the green? Good, 'cuz now you can chip in by planting a few of the 15,000 trees MillionTreesNYC will be sticking in the ground next weekend on Fall Planting Day. Just head to one of 10 parks in four boroughs, including Brooklyn's Canarsie Park and our favorite city kayaking spot, Queens's Idlewild Park, and dig in – getting us closer to that one-million goal by 2017. Don your manual-labor best – gloves, shovels, and water come with - then drop some green, 2-foot-tall trees (read: no heavy lifting) like oak and birch into our parks. When the 15,000 trees planted that day mature, they'll absorb 720,000 pounds of CO2 every year – that's like taking 58 cars off the road annually…cha-ching!

Cocktail Fact

If you had 10 million $1 bills and spent one every second of every day, it would take you 317 years to go broke.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 NY Biters plant a tree on November 3, in 5 years those trees will absorb the CO2 produced by 981 trucks in a year.
