Double Dutch

The Bite:
Need to rope in a quick lunch? Skip, ahem, the dollar menu and hop into Danku, a fast-food joint that serves organic bites. This airy Midtown spot (take it out or a load off) puts a new spin on Indo-Dutch lunch options with krokets – fish-stick-style nibblers filled with tomato and mozzarella (our latest obsession), spinach and artichoke, or chili con carne (mmm…con carne) - and Tofu Satay with brown rice. Sandwiches too - try the fresh and crunchy Chicken & Arugula Rice Wrap with cukes, tomato, and parm cheese, then wash it down with a tropical mango Detox, one of its three flavs of organic, creamy fruit smoothies. Bonus: All the containers and cutlery are compostable and biodegradable, so you know where to put them before you jump out.
Wanna Try:
Danku, 47 W. 57th St. Map It (212-888-3777). Roast Beef & Celery Salad Sandwich, $8.

Cocktail Fact

This spring, double Dutch became a varsity sport in NYC public high schools.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 NY Biters eat one organic meal every day for a year, we'll avert 5 full milk jug gallons worth of pesticides from entering the environment.
