Going Ape

The Bite:
P'd off 'cuz you're outta coffee again? Easy there - before you go bananas, plan to swing by Gorilla Coffee. This Park Slope shop serves up strong cups o' joe in varieties like earthy, choco-licious Indonesian Sumatra Mandheling and our spicy-fruity morning stabilizer Ethiopian Harar with cinnamon and blueberry. All the beans are organic (no pesticides on the planet or in our reusable mugs), fair trade, and roasted in small batches with GC's onsite microroaster. Whether you sip it there or take it with you, pick up a pounder bag on your way out (they'll grind it for free) or at Whole Foods…just keep an extra caged in your cupboards.
Wanna Try:
Gorilla Coffee, 97 Fifth Ave. Park Slope. Map It (718-230-3244). Brewed, $2/16 ounces; beans, $12/1pound.

Cocktail Fact

S'leb stylist Rachel Zoe trademarked the catchphrases "Bananas" and "I Die."

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 NY Biters drink a cup of organic coffee instead of nonorganic every day, in a year we'll prevent the weight of 345 full coffee pots in pesticides from pouring into the environment.
