Next Top Model Citizen - High Five

03.06.2009

The Bite:
Still in the running for an eco high five...Summer Rayne Oakes. By day, this model + greenie (us, with longer legs) is an eco-expert for Planet Green (she studied environmental science at Cornell) and an organic jeans model for Levi's. By night (and weekends), she rallies kids behind climate change through Power Shift '09 and volunteers for The Nature Conservancy. Adding to her portfolio this spring: a line of eco-shoes with Payless and her first book, Style, Naturally - all about sustainable fashion and beauty.

What's your eco pet peeve?
SRO: Clean coal (like a healthy cigarette, still not healthy) and Las Vegas lights.

What are you wearing?
SRO: My Doie Designs bamboo-silk kimono (I haven't really made my way to the shower yet).

What would you pack for a City Break?
SRO: Jurlique's Rosewater Balancing Mist (perfect for dry weather), shoes, and my solar-powered backpack.

Wanna Try:
We hear you can spot Summer chomping on the grilled oyster mushrooms and asparagus with fresh lily plate at veg spot Gobo, 401 Ave. of the Americas. Map It (212-255-3902). Style, Naturally, $25.

Cocktail Fact

After 16 years in Bryant Park, the NY Fashion Week tent will move to Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center starting fall 2010.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 NY Biters make their next jeans purchase organic, we'll keep the weight of 56 models in pesticide-treated cotton out of production.
