Here's what's haute this season: Staten Island's spring prepping event at Conference House Park. Volunteer to clean up the park - and our air. In no time - three wee hours this Sunday - you'll flag invasive vines like wisteria for removal (with a biodegradable orange flag, natch), prepare the ground for planting by removing branches and litter (don't worry, gloves come with), and plant shrubs. You'll get all the tools you need, just tote your reusable water bottle (which you can refill at the Visitors Center) and remember to dress warm and comfy - no heels.
