SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 NY Biters buy a locally grown apple instead of one shipped long-distance, we'll cut out the weight of over 1 bil pairs of walking shoes in CO2 from the air.

COCKTAIL FACT

The average New Yorker walks about 3.4 mph.

Looking to cut out of the regular hangouts? Carve out a few new shopping, eating, and relaxing places by taking a Green Boroughs walking tour. These casual three-hour tours - which cover areas such as Park Slope, the West Village, Chelsea, and SoHo - will give you the inside scoop on all things eco in the ‘hood, including where to buy the best local and organic produce, shop sustainable style, and explore out-of-the-way gardens and parks. Tour guide and eco-activist Les Judd led us to Vere Chocolate factory, where we plan to go shopping for blocks of Raspberry and Lemon Organic sweets...frequently.
