SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 NY Biters use locally grown greens for their salads once a week instead of those shipped from afar, in one year we'll keep the weight of over 1 mil standard refrigerators in CO2 out of the air.

COCKTAIL FACT

Steve was once arrested for removing vegetation when he snacked on a dandelion in Central Park...but charges didn't stick - he'd eaten the evidence (don't worry, now he's got permission).

Strawberry Fields for Dinner

The Bite

image
Let me take you down, cause you're going to...Central Park for dinner. No, not Tavern on the Green, but on one of Wildman Steve Brill's foraging tours. These quirky and entertaining 4-hr tours around tri-state area parks walk you through the natural, sustainable, edible, and medicinal plants and 'shrooms you never noticed on your Bridal Path (or Prospect Park or Forest Park) jogs. This weekend, Steve will show you where to pick field garlic and chickweed, cucumber-flavored cattail shoots, wild mushrooms, and burdock roots in Central Park, plus how to prepare them (yep, some are poisonous, so don't zone out on that part). You could snack here...forever.
