SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 SF Biters use compostable utensils instead of conventional disposables, in a year we'll keep almost 1.5 mil disposable knives, forks, spoons, and sporks outta landfills.

COCKTAIL FACT

At 97 ft tall and 117 ft wide, the Panasonic IMAX in Darling Harbor, Australia, is the largest movie screen in the world.

The Big Picture

The Bite:

Tired of watching flicks on your puny TV? Get off the couch and grab a seat at the Sundance Kabuki Cinemas. Focusing on indies and documentaries, the renovated Japantown movie house boasts reserved seating that you can book up to nine days in advance, and even a bar (screw the licorice). Its in-house café uses compostable utensils, and about half the gourmet fare (think cheese plates and Niman Ranch burgers) is sourced locally. Look around: The gorgeous paneling throughout the theater is made from reclaimed wood, and the backs of the plush seats are made from 100% recycled materials. Next Tuesday through Thursday, you can watch the 2008 Oscar-nominated documentaries gratis - first come, first serve. That's what we like to see.

Wanna Try?

Sundance Kabuki Cinemas, 1881 Post St. at Fillmore St. (415-929-4650). Tickets, $7.50-$13.50.
