Recycled Notebooks

If Books Could Kill...

11.06.2009

The Bite:
…we'd be long dead. Luckily, Sara Pinto's new line of notebooks aim to please. From the lady who brought you your 2009 Weekly Planner, these next of kin are also made using 100% recycled paper, soy inks, and printed and bound here in SF. Purse-able, affordable enough to splurge on a few (one for notes, one for recipes, one for secrets…), and available in five charming designs (we're digging the skulls) - plus, some proceeds go toward the Pediatric Cardiology Department at CPMC. Killer.

Why Care?:
The average American uses the equivalent of a tree 100 feet high and 18 inches in diameter each year in paper - buying notebooks made out of 100% recycled paper chips away at that.

We may be chained to our computers, but that doesn't mean we don't love the old-school charm of jotting down ideas and love letters by hand.

Wanna Try:

Cocktail Fact

Fake diaries of Hitler (including implausible sentences such as "I have violent flatulence") sold for about $4 million to a German collector in 1981.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 SF Biters buy a 100-page notebook printed on 100% recycled paper rather than paper made from virgin trees, we'll keep 600 trees standing.
