Farm Fundraiser

Prince Farming

The Bite:
Got a soft spot for animals in distress? Ride to their rescue at the Farm Sanctuary. The animal advocate is throwing its annual 2-day fundraising hootenanny up in Orland - it's a hike, but it's worth it. By day you become fluent in animal rights via experts' lectures (sanctuaries provide a haven for animals rescued from or abandoned by factory farms); by night you boogie to live music at the barn dance. Camp out under the stars, then get yoga and vegan food come morning. Swoon.
Why Care?:
Factory farms (CAFOs) contaminate soil, air, and waterways, and sicken many animals in the process - FS provides safe, clean conditions for rescued CAFO animals.
We're looking forward to hearing Herbivore Magazine founder Josh Hooten spill about his fundraising bike ride from Portland, OR, to Orland, CA, for this year's event.

Cocktail Fact

Prince was the 790th most popular baby boy name in 2007, up from 953rd in 1999.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 SF Biters go veg instead of eating meat for just 1 day, we'll avert the weight of 27 full-grown black angus cows in farm animal, um, excrement from polluting our waterways.
