The Bite:
Sip wine and nosh nibbles on a weeknight? Makes perfect sense to us, and to the folks behind 18 Reasons too. This Bi-Rite Market- and community-supported art, wine, and food nonprof runs a space in the Mission, and hosts weekly Thursday night food, art, and lecture events for members. Membership breakdown: $40 gets you a scoop at Bi-Rite Creamery; a rental at Fayes Video; $5 off at Pizzeria Delfina, Dolores Park Cafe, Bi-Rite Market, and Tartine; and all the Thursday night events you can handle for a year - hosted by local farmers, artists, winemakers, and chefs. Past Thursdays have (very logically) paired Bi-Rite Creamery's own Honey Lavender ice cream with Le Vol des Anges dessert wine from Bonny Doon Vineyard. Convincing.
