On The Road

The Bite:
Lookin' to beat it outta SF this weekend? Whoa, man, check out Wine Road's 31st Annual Barrel Tasting event. Chat up local winemakers while you booze straight outta the barrel at nearly 100 Alexander Valley, Dry Creek, and Russian River Valley wineries. Several bi-dy and organic wineries will represent: Swing by Truett-Hurst for some peppery Petit Sirah, and do not miss the rustic charms of Preston (two words: farm cats). Driving around Sonoma county isn't exactly eco (def carpool), but this year, the event's nixing printed promo stuff and tossable water bottles (taking 100K+ out of circulation). Best yet, you can purchase futures for exclusive, small-batch wines waitin' on bottles. What a trip…
Wanna Try:
Wine Road Barrel Tasting; Mar. 14-15. Tickets, $30 at the door of any participating winery on event day.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 SF Biters knock back a bottle of organic wine every week for a year 'steada the conventional variety, we'll keep the weight of three beatniks in pesticides out of the environment.
