The Bite:

Tired of monkeying around with less than stellar seafood? Get to Fish & Farm to see and sample some insanely fresh and delicious cuisine. The year-old TenderNob restaurant features comfy banquette seating, bamboo flooring, and a rotating daily menu sourced almost entirely from within a 100-mile radius of the bay. Honor National Seafood Month (yes, there is one) with seasonally caught fish (avoiding baby-making times and keeping populations up) right off SF-launched day boats, like the slow-roasted Loch Duart Salmon Mi-cuit (translation: slow-cooked, buttery awesomeness) with fingerling potatoes and Brentwood white corn. Finish it off with the 100 Mile Cheese Plate and a bottle of organic Husch Pinot Noir, and speak not about out-of-season fare.

Wanna Try:

Fish & Farm, 339 Taylor St. between O'Farrell and Ellis Sts. (415-474-3474). Loch Duart Salmon Mi-cuit, $25; 100 Mile Cheese Plate, $12.

Cocktail Fact

Mahatma Gandhi's one notable exception to his lifestyle of nonpossession was a small statue of the Three Wise Monkeys.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 SF Biters opt for locally harvested fish instead of the imported, frozen variety, we'll keep the CO2 emissions equivalent to driving around the planet 560 times outta the atmosphere.
